In Skyward Sword, right when Link exits the Knight Academy while following Fi, I literally just sat, not moving the controller, and stared at my television for a good 5 minutes. The music, the moonlight, the colors, everything just felt so surreal. I loved that feeling.

I have never played a Legend of Zelda game, bar about ten minutes of Ocarina of Time on my friend’s N64 when I was about ten years old.

Ocarina of Time, and the Legend of Zelda series as a whole, is the most overrated thing in the history of video games.

To this day, every time I see those 3 slots for save files in Zelda, I silently rage, because with all my other games, I like to save before each and every memorable cutscene so that I can rewatch it whenever.

Skyward Sword is the first and, as of now, only Zelda game to make me tear up. Which is hard, because I’m a stone-cold b-tch when playing games. For that reason, it will always hold a special place in my heart, even if people don’t consider it the best now or later on.

I own every Zelda game, and I’ve bought consoles purely because a Zelda game came out on it. However, I have only ever completed Wind Waker, and I’m more than a bit ashamed of this.

I was really disappointed with Skyward Sword. I mean, I liked it, it was an okay game. But even with doing most of the side quests and the main story I never felt that it was a great game. It was ok. All the way it was it was just ok; the story, the characters, the places, temples, enemies. Maybe my expectations were to high but we waited 5 years so…
